Coral Reefs, Mangroves & Climate Change

“We need to engage in a sustainable form of tourism which creates awareness of environmental challenges instead of leaving a negative impact,” is a key Learning Sentence shared by Elisa about today’s experiences.

Today we put yesterday’s learning into practice, heading out to visit some of Zanzibar’s mangroves and coral reefs. After a morning of snorkelling, the participants explored the mangroves through an educational walk and an afternoon boat trip.

In our Buzz Talk, the participants reflected on the importance of coral reef preservation and the impact of climate change.

Jaelyn – “Sometimes you’ll get stuck in the current of life by assimilating to the negative characteristics of your surroundings, but you must fight it and swim upstream to make the real difference.”
