Racism, slavery & Interfaith dialogue
“No matter what your beliefs are, we all believe in love and that’s what unites us all”, is a learning sentence from Ricardo about today’s discussions. Today many meaning conversations were had about slavery, racism and interfaith dialogue.
The learning was kickstarted with a morning visit to the former slave market, where the YGP participants learned about the extensive history of the slave trade in Zanzibar. In the afternoon, YGP and local participants took part in a meaningful workshop on interfaith dialogue. Eye-level discussions allowed participants the opportunity to learn each other’s perspectives on religion in an open and respectful way
